William P. Kotti, Ph.D.

Chief development officer, MCV Campus, Virginia Commonwealth University

Bill Kotti joined the MCV Foundation as president and chief development officer for VCU’s MCV Campus in January 2007.

As president of the MCVF, Kotti manages the foundation and serves as the liaison between the foundation board and the university administration. As chief development officer for the MCV Campus, Kotti works closely with VCU Health System leadership, the VCU Office of Advancement, and the deans and development directors of the health sciences schools to strategize, coordinate and execute fundraising initiatives. He also serves as a primary resource for planned giving programs on the MCV Campus, partnering with development directors to raise higher levels of private support.

Prior to joining MCVF, Kotti was associate dean for resource planning and development for the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at The Johns Hopkins University, where he managed the school’s most recent fundraising campaign, Knowledge for the World. The campaign surpassed its $250 million goal by $84 million.

Kotti earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, a master’s degree in public administration and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of South Carolina.
