T. K. Somanath joined the MCV Foundation board in 2012.
T.K. is former chief executive officer of Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority, which serves more than 20,000 residents through affordable housing programs, directs neighborhood redevelopment initiatives in partnership with the City of Richmond, and oversees more than $68 million in federal, state and local funding.
Prior to being appointed CEO of RRHA, T.K. served for 23 years as the president and CEO of the Better Housing Coalition, a nonprofit community development corporation focused on transforming communities and developing mixed income housing in Central Virginia.
Prior to joining BHC, T.K. served as the Director of Development at RRHA for 15 years where he led neighborhood redevelopment and transformation of historic public buildings to provide housing for low-income seniors.
T.K. earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Mysore in Mysore, India. In addition to the MCV Foundation, T.K. serves on the board of the Virginia Community Development Corporation.
