Daniel joined the foundation in October 2023 as a multimedia production manager with a focus on visual storytelling. For the two decades prior, Daniel has worked as a visual journalist for the Daily Press and the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
Daniel’s visual project “Four Lives. One Last Chance,” won several awards including best in show, first place in picture story and first place in the special section at the 2003 Virginia Press Association News Contest. He has won more than 50 awards from state, national and international competitions including the Pictures of Year International Competition and National Press Photographers Association’s Best in Visual Journalism. One of his photos was selected for use in a national 9/11 memorial and is in the permanent collection at the Library of Congress.
Daniel earned his M.A. in photojournalism at Ohio University and B.A. in photography from Chung-Ang University in Korea. He lives in Williamsburg with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he likes traveling, reading and photography.
