Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation Scholarship

Every year since 1954, the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation has awarded scholarship funding to support nursing students on the MCV Campus. Thousands of future nurses have benefited from the foundation’s roughly $9 million in donations throughout the years.

Today, MCV Foundation is the doorway that connects VCU School of Nursing students with the transformational scholarship funding that the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation continues to provide annually.

The Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation was established in 1946 by Conkey Pate Whitehead as a memorial to his mother, Lettie, with the purpose of educating women. The foundation’s scholarship program awards its annual grants to more than 200 accredited educational institutions across the Southeast, including 51 in Virginia.

The Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship application for the 2024-2025 academic year is now closed.
