Nursing Education Enters New Era
The sophistication of the School of Nursing's Clinical Learning Center
In the School of Nursing’s Clinical Learning Center, students learn on sophisticated human-patient simulators that can be programmed both to show symptoms of certain conditions and diseases and to respond to various interventions, such as medications. In addition, the CLC’s eight-bed clinical units allow students to engage in the care of groups of patients, learning how to work with nursing and health care teams that simulate the real world of hospital and primary care settings.
The CLC is a fine example of the 21st-century technology that is incorporated into the new School of Nursing building, a state-of-the-science facility made possible by $12.5 million in private donations during the school’s Campaign for Solutions.
