American Hospital Association Selects VCU Health for National Hospital Week Video

The American Hospital Association selected VCU Health from its thousands of members to feature in this year’s National Hospital Week spotlight video.

National Hospital Week runs from May 7-13 and provides an opportunity to celebrate and thank all of the hardworking men and women — physicians, nurses, therapists, engineers, administrators, support staff and volunteers — who work in our hospitals and provide life-saving, compassionate care.

The video “Every Day Heroes” shows the superheroes across VCU Health’s many programs and specialties in action. The video was premiered at the AHA Annual Meeting and is being used as part of their national campaign.

“This week we celebrate National Hospital Week with a grateful heart,” said Marsha D. Rappley, M.D., vice president of VCU Health Sciences and CEO of VCU Health System, and Deborah Davis, CEO of VCU Health System Hospitals and Clinics and vice president for clinical affairs. “This observance honors all who support the health and well-being of their communities through dedication and compassionate care. We see this every day across VCU Health. We could not be more proud and humbled to work alongside the finest team in healthcare.”

VCU Medical Center offers the only Level I trauma center in Central Virginia and was ranked the No. 1 hospital in the Richmond metro area and among the best in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
