MCV Foundation Awards Honor Outstanding Dedication to VCU Health and VCU Health Sciences

On June 16, the MCV Foundation honored four people whose care, compassion and unwavering commitment to VCU Health and VCU Health Sciences reverberate throughout the MCV Campus in myriad ways.

“This year’s awardees define what it means to serve patients, advance research and improve education,” said Margaret Ann Bollmeier, president and CEO of the MCV Foundation. “Each person recognized with these awards has made an enormous impact, and they’ve done it selflessly and passionately. We can’t thank them enough.”

This year’s recipients include a devoted volunteer whose vision for helping VCU Health patients and their families has thrived for more than 40 years. Another is a talented, patient-focused surgeon who has raised the bar for orthopaedic standards of care both at VCU Health and around the world. A third recipient is a champion fundraiser whose quiet wisdom and leadership is matched only by their dedication to support the next generation of medical professionals on the MCV Campus. Another is a world-renowned expert in women’s health whose research and commitment has established VCU Health as a global leader in that field.

Darius Johnson, chair of the MCV Foundation Board of Trustees, thanked all the recipients for their tireless dedication. “We are honored to celebrate these individuals who serve as philanthropic leaders and inspire all of us,” he said.
