Philanthropic leadership has given Massey Cancer Centers’ immunotherapy research program a booster shot of more than $6.6 million to support immuno-oncology research, clinical trials and the recruitment and retention of talented physician-scientists.

Ann Deppman joined the MCV Foundation in September 2020 as director of gift planning. She brings more than 13 years of nonprofit experience and will provide strategic leadership and support to our partners across the MCV Campus.

Each year, the MCV Foundation Board of Trustees honors people who have made significant contributions to the world-class patient care, research and education that VCU Health delivers right here in our community.

We spoke with several VCU Health nurses who are graduates of the VCU School of Nursing and are playing a critical role during this health crisis. They trained in our community and are now saving lives in our community thanks to their dedication and their incredible nursing training.

Each year, PRSA Richmond recognizes outstanding public relations professionals and their work at the Virginia Public Relations Awards. The MCV Foundation received several awards this year for its communications work.

In-kind donations of masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and other personal protective equipment from the community have lifted staff spirits and helped to ensure the safety of staff and patients.

Dr. Venitz has inspired and mentored many VCU School of Pharmacy students over his decades of teaching. This year, many of them have given back to establish a scholarship in his honor.
